And the funny thing is, as an adult, I mostly read YA literature. With the more "adult"-oriented books, between the overt sex scenes and the excessive violence, I just don't see much value in current literature. The YA stuff is forced by its customer base to keep a lot of the prurient interest and graphic violence in check, leaving more room for *gasp* actual plot.
