Completely on the mark. I didn't even know the term "gaslighting" until this past year. It explains so much that I always knew was wrong, but lacked the vocabulary to articulate the wrongness of it. Every time the narcissist says things like, "That never happened, you just imagined it" or "That's not what I asked you to do, you must have misunderstood."

You are so right about them needing to teach this stuff in school. I have to wonder how much better off kids would be if we taught them life skills like how to recognize abuse instead of wasting their time memorizing state capitals.

And, BTW, I still don't know the capital of Vermont!
