Excellent points here. I stay away from the meta articles about Medium. No patience for whining. I almost navigated away as soon as I saw your reference to the MWC. Glad I didn't. I've been monetized here for 2 months now, and am not complaining about how much I am or am not getting. Whatever I get, it's more than I had before, so I count it as a win.

What really motivates me here is getting to write for an intelligent audience in a reasonably non-toxic environment (Looking at you, Twitter!) If Medium sees fit to occasionally throw me a few coins, I won't turn it down. But it's not why I'm here.
