I feel your pain. When I moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1999, I went to a local Starbucks, and my Starbucks card was declined. They told me those cards were only accepted in the United States. Hello? Hawaii? Granted statehood in 1959? I looked into it, and it turned out the Starbucks corporation had Hawaii under the geographical umbrella of "Pacific Rim International Zone." Sometimes stuff is just so dumb it makes your head hurt.
