I get this, completely. When I was a kid, my Dad would do his narcissistic thing, pushing and pushing, until I'd finally blow up and push back. Then he'd look at me like I was crazy, and say, "You really need to get that temper of yours under control." This is why I don't have time for narcissists anymore. I consider it a kind of superpower. As soon as I realize someone is a narcissist, I can shut them out completely. They don't get their hooks in, because as soon as that narcissistic game playing comes out, I kick them to the curb. It's incredibly liberating.
