The pity of it is, people who would be good teachers are put off by the nonsense in the system. I have an M.S. degree, and taught one class as an adjunct at a community college. Loved it.

I have worked closely with kids, back when I worked in a public library. I worked with the Youth Services Librarian in the children's section, and I was active in our youth library volunteer program. I have a natural rapport with kids, and have no doubt I would have been a good teacher.

I thought seriously about going for a teaching certificate, but after hearing about the daily hassles, it's just not worth it. What a waste.
